Austintown AARP Chapter 4339 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1612 Raccoon Road. The board will meet at 12:30. Jim Crawford will speak about Medicare. Members are asked to take plastic wrap for the Rescue Mission. Refreshments will be served. Guests and new members are welcome. Tickets at a cost of $3 will be sold for the July 10 picnic; a covered dish to share also is requested. Golden Pillars will meet for an 11 a.m. liturgy Tuesday before a noon meeting at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Mary Novak will preside, and Edward Kohl will be honored as Father of the Year. Birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and cards and bingo will be played. Members are asked to take their own table setting for the luncheon.
Happy Wanderers will have a monthly meeting Friday. Meet and greet will begin a little past 11 a.m., and the meeting will begin with a sack lunch at noon. Recent Hubbard High School graduate Rachel Bancroft will provide a program of music and tell of her recent mission trips to El Salvador. Serving as hostesses will be Irene DeStasio, Lois Singer, Ilene Hudavoni, Shirley Petrik, Shirley Rainey and Helen Cook. Greeters will be Mary Ellen Wohlgamuth, Wilma Quinn, Vivian Fell and Nancy Murray. The picnic committee will meet briefly at 11:30 a.m. Upcoming tours follow: departure for the annual mystery tour June 19 will be 6:30 a.m. On July 24 there is a trip to Erie, Pa., to the Station Dinner Theatre for its presentation of “The Carol Burnett Show.” Aug. 30 is the Made in America tour of the Buffalo, N.Y., area. J.C. Penney Retirees will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Final plans for the picnic will be made.

St. Joseph Goldenagers will meet for an annual catered picnic at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Lyons Hall. Evelyn Menaldi will preside, reports will be given, and Carol McClain will read the thought for the day. The cost of $12 is payable at the door. Cards will be played, and get-well cards will be sent to members who are ill. The next meeting will be in July.
St. Rose Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Amen Corner for pizza and coffee.
