Victoria DiGennaro recently graduated from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.

She is a 2005 graduate of Struthers High School and a 2008 graduate of Youngstown State University.

Dr. DiGennaro lives in Cuyahoga Falls and will be entering a family-medicine residency program at Summa Western Reserve Hospital, Cuyahoga Falls.

She is the daughter of Rocco and Terri DiGennaro of Boardman and Rick and Maryann Check of Austintown.

DOCTORATE

Jenna Elizabeth Klempay, received her doctor of pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in May and is a member of Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Honor and Leadership Society. She was a 2006 graduate of Ursuline High School.

She will do a community-pharmacy residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Dr. Klempay is the daughter of Richard and Cheryl Klempay and the granddaughter of Donald and Joanne Blockinger and Mary Lou Klempay, all of Austintown.

HONORS

Anthony Cretella, a Youngstown native, received the Case-Hartmann Foundation Public Servant Leadership Award. Cretella is an officer with the Charleston, S.C., Police Department.

The award is presented annually to an officer who demonstrates a commitment to the community as well as serving as a role model or mentor to others. Other criteria include demonstration of proficiency in the performance of duties as a police officer, strong and constructive leadership within the police agency and strong character that includes integrity, courage, ability and discipline.

Cretella is active in his church, involved with programs for underprivileged children, Special Olympics and mentoring.

He joined Charleston police in 2005 and previously served as an officer with Youngstown State University Police Department.
