Warren Family Mission named finalist in contest
Staff report
WARREN
The Warren Family Mission has been chosen as one of the finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good competition. All voting will take place June 20 on two social-media websites — Facebook and Twitter.
Warren Family Mission will be among five agencies competing that day for a free Toyota. If Warren Family Mission gets the most votes that day, it will receive a Toyota Sienna minivan that can be used for client services, said Michelle Beauchene, director of development and public relations for the mission.
The mission was among 500 agencies Toyota selected to participate and the only one from the Mahoning Valley. The mission wrote an essay about the work it does to qualify for the competition, Beauchene said. The mission will find out June 21 whether it won the van.
The mission receives no government funding, Beauchene said. It relies on voluntary contributions.
