Motorcycle blessings

The Rev. Joseph Rudjak of Holy Apostles Parish, Youngstown: A Father’s Day weekend motorcycle blessing is planned at 5 p.m. next Saturday and 11 a.m. June 17 at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church, 421 Covington St. Blessings also will be at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. June 17 at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave. Father Rudjak rides a 2006 Harley-Davidson Softail. The 700-pound, 1400cc motorcycle is a belt drive.

The Rev. Greg Maturi of St. Dominic Church, Youngstown: The church had a motorcycle blessing May 20 that attracted about 90 participants. Father Maturi rides a 1993 Kawasaki ZX-6. The 500-pound, 600cc motorcycle is a chain drive.

The Rev. Stephen Popovich of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown: A recent bike run with about 35 participants benefited the youth ministry’s future trip to Appalachia. Father Popovich rides a 2011 Suzuki Boulevard. The 800-pound, 1800cc motorcycle is a shaft drive.
