The Boardman High School Maria Montessori Chapter of the Italian National Honor Society held its annual induction ceremony May 11. Boardman High School is the only school in Ohio with a chapter of the Italian National Honor Society.

The senior members of the society conducted the ceremony to induct the 2012 members, consisting of 17 juniors. The 2012 inductees were Anthony Calautti, Gianna Centofanti, Francesca D’Apolito, Nicole Deley, Stefan Della Gatta, Kayla Guiliani, Angelina Gresko, Jaclyn Jones, Nicholas Klein, Colleen Manning, Lauren Moliterno, Angela Parillo, Nicole Pilolli, Paige Rowland, Christina Slavens, Carolyn Zaitzew and Dominic Zocolo.

In order to be inducted, members must be enrolled in Italian IV and must have attained a 3.5 GPA in Italian I, II, and III.

The honorary inductee was Monsignor Cariglio, from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. This was the 15th induction ceremony in the history of the society. The advisers are Maddalena Amero, Mary Ann Keifer, Bernice Mazzella, Ellie Sacco and Liliana McElhaney. The Boardman chapter has provided service to the school, most recently by donating American flags to be displayed in every classroom of the building.
