Greenwood rewards Fitch students’ work

Neighbors | Submitted.Austintown Fitch and Greenwood Chevrolet recently presented seniors with the 15th annual Greenwood Proficiency O.G.T. (Ohio Graduation Test) Award.

Each year, Greg Greenwood, Greenwood Chevrolet presents Doug McGlynn, principal of Fitch High School, with a check for $1500 to be used to purchase gifts to raffle for seniors who passed the Proficiency Test.

More than 100 gifts are purchased, including Cleveland Indians tickets, gift cards to local restaurants, tickets to local cinemas and more. Students’ names are randomly drawn for gifts.

This year’s check was presented on May 23 in front of Fitch High School. Names of winning students were drawn at the Honors Assembly.

This annual gift encourages students to take their studies to a higher level. Austintown Fitch is proud of its 99.9 percent passing ratio.
