YSU names new education school dean

Charles L. Howell, associate professor and chair of the Department of Leadership, Educational Psychology and Foundations at Northern Illinois University, has been named dean of the Beeghly College of Education at Youngstown State University.

Howell, chosen after a national search, will take the position July 1. He replaces Philip Ginnetti, who left YSU in July 2010 to become provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Edinboro University. Mary Lou DiPillo has served as interim dean since Ginnetti’s departure.
