Mahoning Commisssioners allocate funds for summer youth employment program
YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County commissioners allocated funds to various employers to pay those working in the summer youth employment program.
The Youngstown Parks and Recreation Department was the largest recipient at $245,000.
Other recipients today were the Mahoning County Juvenile Court, $55,200; the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., $29,000; the Mahoning-Columbiana Training Association, $25,000; and the city of Struthers, $21,250.
Other employers under the program will receive their allocations when they complete documentation of the number of young workers they are hiring, said Robert E. Bush Jr., county Job and Family Services director.
