Canfield school board mulls putting on property-tax levy
CANFIELD — The Canfield Board of Education will receive a recommendation June 20 from the district’s administration if a new levy should be placed before voters and if so, when and at what millage.
The school board met in a work session today to review the district’s most-recent five-year forecast, which it submitted to the state May 31.
The district’s ending cash balance plummets from about $2.3 million at the close of fiscal year 2014 to $157,927 by the end of fiscal year 2015. The cash balance at the end of fiscal year 2016 is expected to be in the red about $2.5 million, according to the forecast.
