Teachers will exchange vows in open June rite

Thomas and Sylvia Shirilla are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Erin Shirilla, to Michael Broderick, all of Struthers. The prospective groom is the son of Darlene and James Palmer of Struthers, and Douglas and Melody Broderick of Austintown.

The couple will be married in an open ceremony at 2:30 p.m. June 22 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Youngstown. An evening reception by invitation has been planned at The Links at Firestone Farms in Columbiana.

The bride-to-be graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is a music teacher at Horizon Science Academy in Youngstown.

Mr. Broderick earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. He is a physical education teacher at Horizon Science Academy.
