Scarsella to speak for historical society

PETERSBURG

Springfield Township Historical Society will host Richard Scarsella as its featured speaker at 7:30 p.m. June 12 at the meeting house on Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road.

The local historian, educator and president of the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will give a presentation on Idora Park history. Scarsella also is the author of “Memories and Melancholy: Reflections of the Mahoning Valley and Youngstown, Ohio.”

There is no charge.

The society also is hosting open houses the first Sunday of June through October, (except September) from 1 to 3 p.m.
