Boardman police seek man who tried to steal golf clubs
BOARDMAN — Police are trying to find the man who attempted to steal three golf clubs from Dick’s Sporting Goods store on U.S. Route 224.
The incident occurred about noon Monday when a man, who police said is also a suspect in an April Best Buy theft, took three golf clubs, valued at about $1,100 total, from the store without paying and setting off alarm sensors.
Three staff members chased the man through the parking lot. He dropped the clubs in an open field behind First Place Bank, near the sporting goods store, according to reports.
The suspect is described as a white male between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue hooded sweat shirt. He also has a beard and dark brown hair, reports stated.
