Theft suspect in Boardman robbery ID'd

BOARDMAN — A Vindicator reader helped township police identify a theft suspect.

Police today arrested Rodney Dodson, 50, of Youngstown, and he is expected to be arraigned on a theft charge this week in Mahoning County Area Court in Boardman. Police said Dodson is accused of stealing more than $300 worth of cigarettes from the Shell gas station at 950 Boardman-Poland Road about 10:20 p.m. May 4.

Security footage of the suspect appeared in the May 16 Vindicator, and police said a reader recognized the man and gave them information leading to the arrest.
