IHM parish festival begins this week
AUSTINTOWN
Immaculate Heart of Mary’s 29th annual parish festival will be Wednesday through next Sunday at the church grounds, 4490 Norquest Blvd. It will begin at 6 p.m. each night.
A free children’s fun run will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by the 5K run. Registration begins at 5 p.m. The fee is $13 ($15 day of event). Go to ihmfestival5k.webs.com for a registration form.
There will be a polka Mass at 5 p.m. Saturday with Eddie Vallus and fireworks at 10:30 p.m. next Sunday. The festival also will feature drawings, games and amusement rides, a mechanical bull and a petting zoo, as well as a rummage sale, live music and food.
Jim Scott concert
YOUNGSTOWN
Singer-songwriter Jim Scott will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at First Unitarian Universalist Church, Elm Street at Illinois Avenue. Admission is $10. Scott is a co-creator of the “Green Sanctuary” program for churches to become more sustainable.
