A U.S. Coast Guard crew has rescued two men whose kayaks capsized near Middle Bass Island State Park.

Coast Guardsmen were towing a disabled vessel when they spotted the men in the water waving to get their attention about 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Their kayaks had capsized and they couldn’t get back into them.

The Coast Guard says the men, a 29-year-old and a 32-year-old, had been wearing life jackets but one man’s fell off and he was clinging to it. They’d been in the 65-degree water for about 45 minutes before they were rescued. They had no means of communication with them.

Their names are not being released.
