TRAVEL

SBA Aces, a 12U travel team, won the Silver Championship of the Blue Ash Wood Bat Classic in Cincinnati. They defeated the Lake Monsters 11-0 in the final game. Members of the team include Dakota Bingham (Lordstown), Brock Sarko (Lakeview), Noah Bell (Howland), Anthony Longo (Canfield), Nicholas D’Apolito (Poland), Greg Valent (Howland), Kyle Ricketts (Mercer), Brycen James (South Range), Reed McCreery (Poland), Trent Hittle (Greenville) and Jordan Baker (Mercer). The team is managed by Jason Stanford and coached by Chris Nielsen, Dan Morgan and Terry James.

Dairy Queen 18-9, Springfield Ruritan 2-0

Campbell Lady Devils 8-0, East Palestine Home Savings 5-14 — Haley Huff, Sadie Walker and Kendra Hoover had RBIs for East Palestine in the first game. In the nightcap, Jessica Leake had two hits and three RBIs, and Carlee Biegenwald had two hits and four RBIs. Sydney Telischak, the winning pitcher, struck out six.

Players Division

Columbiana 20-17, Howland 0-1 — Holly Gotthardt pitched a no-hitter and struck out 12 in the opener. Jenna Crum had three RBIs. In the second game Halie Martin had two hits and three RBIs and was the winning pitcher. Crum had two hits and two RBIs.

Lowellville RK Wood Products 22-6, Lady Tigers 4-4

Columbiana 10-14, Austintown Dairy Queen 0-4 — In the opener, Holy Gotthardt was the winning pitcher. Haley Martin had two hits and Hannah Hromiko drove in two runs. In game two, Martin was the winning pitcher and had two hits. Jenna Crum hit a home run.

TRACK & FIELD

Holy Family School’s track team placed second overall of seven teams at the Ursuline Invitational. Members of the team included Olivia Christopher, Patrick Brennan, Hannah Frisone, Kieran Burk, Arielle Kreuzwieser, Robert Kurta, Morgan Wardle, Jacob Ovaska, Christopher Perry, Jay Ramer, Alex Wollet, Adam Yossef, Anthony Zeno, Kirsten Appel, Mario Abbattista, Michaelina Appugliese. Matthew Holsinger, Sophia Harakal, John-Michael Koutsourais, Jenna Perchak, Evan Leek, Emily Rella, Michael Myers, Isabel Stoeber and Kellie Walker. The team was coached by Renee Abbattista, Michelle Wardle, Cory Okular and Jimmy Stickel.
