Poland man nears destination of memory trek

POLAND

Chuck Campbell of Poland should reach his Florida destination Saturday after bicycling 1,070 miles in memory of his late wife, Carol Campbell.

Campbell, 62, began his journey May 2 and will finish in Pensacola, Fla. where his daughter resides.

Carol Campbell, Chuck’s wife of 36 years and longtime Struthers teacher, died in 2008 at age 58 from staphylococcal meningitis, a rare but deadly type of meningitis and used Hospice of the Valley during her final days.

As part of his ride, Campbell asked people to sponsor him by making a donation to Hospice of the Valley.
