Lloyd Elementary School students had the time of their lives running, playing and laughing during the school’s Fun Day May 18.

“It’s a great way to end a school year,” said Lloyd Principal Tom Lenton.

The annual event, which is hosted by Lloyd Elementary School PTA, included 16 games and activities for students to participate in.

Laura Stoy, Fun Day Chair, wanted to provide a fun-filled experience for students, while also incorporating a healthy environment.

“It’s a day to have fun, exercise and be outside,” Stoy said.

Aligning with a healthy theme, Stoy provided students with water instead of juice and created many games involving physical activity. Some games included sled pull relay, firefighter race and more.

Students wore color-coordinated shirts to match their grade level. Kindergarten students wore yellow, first-graders wore orange, second-graders wore teal and third-graders wore blue.

According to Lenton, the event’s success would not have been possible without the help of PTA members and volunteers.

“Lloyd’s PTA are exemplary. They set high standards,” Lenton said.
