The West Boulevard Elementary School gymnasium was reminiscent of a scene right out of the Disney movie “Cinderella” as little girls dressed in colorful gowns and pretty shoes swarmed around their dates during the school’s father-daughter dance May 18.

“It’s the only time they can dance with their fathers,” said Kerry Geraci, PTA Vice President and hostess.

Daughters and fathers danced the night away to the melodic tunes of pop music while some little girls blew bubbles and cheered with friends. Fathers and daughters were also able to pose for professional pictures.

David Gordon, father of 6-year-old Mira, said his daughter had been anticipating the event.

“She’s been talking about it for weeks,” Gordon said.

Daughters weren’t the only ones enjoying every second of the dance. Fathers also lit up with excitement and appreciated the event.

“It feels really special,” said Patrick Spearman.

The evening provided little girls with memories with their fathers they would never forget.

“It’s just so nice to see these girls here. I love doing this for them,” Geraci said.
