Competition surged amongst Fitch High School seniors as they vied to win the school’s annual scavenger hunt May 22.
“We’ve waited all year and we’re so excited,” said Fitch High School senior, Erin Craine.
According to ninth-grade principal Keith Edenfield, teams of four all paid $20 each to participate. Each team was given a list of 25 items they were to find. The proceeds from the event are donated to whatever charity the winning team decides.
“Last year, the students chose Angels for Animals,” Edenfield said.
This year, students raised $190 from the event. Each team showed off their school spirit by wearing matching T-shirts and decorated their cars.
“We want to have a good time,” Fitch High School senior, Zach Zarbaugh said.
Sounds of tires screeching the pavement echoed in the school’s parking lot as teams dashed to find the items on the list.
“The Curtis Commandoes,” which included Justin Beck, Michael Curtis, Ross Blevins and Anthony Jordon won the competition and donated their proceeds to the Fitch High School Relay for Life team.
