The owners of Vintage Estate Wine and Beer say their new restaurant, Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, will “be something very, very different than what Youngstown is used to.”

Phill and Sandy Reda said Magic Tree Pub & Eatery will open in the fall at the former home of the Youngstown Sports Grille, 7463 South Ave.

“It’s going to be like VE with a twist. We’ll have televisions. We’re going to have a full bar, so we’ll have the great craft beers on tap and in bottles and a great wine selection, but we’ll also serve mixed drinks and domestics that we don’t carry at VE,” said Sandy Reda.

Sports fans will be able to enjoy the NFL Sunday Ticket along with other sporting events on more than 20 televisions placed throughout the restaurant and bar, according to a news release.

Reda said they learned the Sports Grille building was for sale two years ago. The sports bar had occupied that location for about six years before closing in March.

“When we first found out about that, we thought it would be cool to have a full bar, full menu, full everything, but we knew we didn’t want to change anything here at Vintage Estate,” she said.

Vintage Estate, 7317 South Ave., will remain the same and continue to offer retail craft beer and wine sales, she added. The new restaurant will not have a retail area.

“We’re really remodeling and putting a lot of TLC into it,” she said of the new restaurant.

The new eatery is led by head chef Chris Pinter, who has more than 15 years of culinary experience.

“The Magic Tree Pub & Eatery will offer American infusion cuisine, and I promise the guests a great culinary experience,” Pinter said in the release.

Anyone interested in joining Pinter is invited to a job fair from 12 to 6 p.m. Monday at Vintage Estate. Kitchen, management, bartending and server positions are available.

Reda suggested that applicants bring resumes and said an online application should be available this week at vewinebeer.com.

“We’re really excited,” she said.
