NHCCA plans Aug.fundraiser, banquet

Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association (NHCCA) will sponsor a musical dinner theater Aug. 24 at The Georgetown banquet hall, 5945 South Ave.

The combination fundraiser and recognition banquet will feature Legends portraying Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James and Sarah L. Vaughn and the Forties Dancers.

The association will recognize Annie L. Gillam, 1st Ward councilwoman, for her service and Annie Hall and Lawrence Tazwell as outstanding volunteers for their participation in NHCCA’s Litter Control and Beautification Project in the 1st and 2nd Wards.

The event is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Social hour with a cash bar will be from 6 to 6:30 with dinner at 7.

Advance tickets are $40 a person or $300 for a table of eight. Deadline to buy tickets is Aug. 10. No tickets will be sold at the door. For tickets, call Betty Crafter Royal, fundraiser chairwoman, at 330-746-0188.

Proceeds will benefit ongoing efforts to improve litter control and beautification in the 1st and 2nd Wards.
