Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency is offering an opportunity for absent parents to reinstate suspended driver’s licenses from Wednesday to Aug. 31 as part of Child Support Awareness Month.

The “Deals for Your Wheels” program offers the service with an agreement for the parent to seek employment and give one month payment of current support plus one dollar on the arrears.

Those wishing to participate in the offer can visit Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the month and ask to speak to a license-suspension case manager.

Those participating will get a form which can be brought to the BMV Regional Reinstatement Center along with a $25 reinstatement fee to obtain a valid license.

One dead in crash

HOWLAND

Raymond L. Gorby, 46, of Warren was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Health Center after he was involved in a one-vehicle accident on state Route 82 west of state Route 46 at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Gorby was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was westbound on Route 82, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Southington Post.

He drove off the right side of the roadway striking a large drainage culvert. Gorby was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by Howland Fire Department. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Discussion groups

The Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence is hosting discussion groups across the state.

The Youngstown discussion group for men will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the women from 7:30 to 9 Aug. 15. To register, call 216-223-8115 or send email to oaesv@ispconsults.com. The location will be given to registrants.

Survivor input will be used by OAESV to help inform policymakers, service providers and others about what changes are needed to create effective and accessible assistance for survivors of sexual violence. The goal is to hear about survivor needs, concerns and recommendations. Feedback is confidential and participants will receive a $25 gas card for attending. Space is limited.

Meeting postponed

RAVENNA

The Ravenna Army Ammunition Plant Restoration Advisory Board meeting scheduled for Aug. 8 has been postponed. The next RAB meeting will be announced at a later date, along with the location of and agenda for the meeting.
