Ex-Christian school principal admits affair with student


READING, Pa. (AP) — A former Christian school principal who climbed through a 17-year-old student’s bedroom window to have sex with her faces a November sentencing date after admitting to the affair.

Franklin Love, 39, pleaded guilty Monday to institutional sex assault involving a student who was enrolled at Berks Christian School at the same time he was principal.

Investigators say they learned of the affair when a fellow student spotted text messages from Love on the girl’s cellphone.

Police say Love would sneak into the girl’s home after he mother was asleep. It was the victim’s mother that first contacted Love about mentoring her daughter.

Prosecutors had sought to revoke Love’s bail because he had been in contact with the girl after his arrest but withdrew that motion after his plea.
