Tickets available for Marquee Awards

CANFIELD

Tickets are available for the ninth annual Marquee Awards, which honor excellence in community theater. The ceremony will take place Aug. 11 at the Family Life Center at St. Michael Catholic Church on North Broad Street. Although attended mainly by actors and technical personnel, tickets are available to the public. Call 330-360-2136. Local television personality Glenn Stevens will emcee the event, which will feature performances from several nominated shows and a basket raffle. A cocktail social hour will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 and the awards ceremony at 8.

Hungarian Day festival planned

Youngstown

The 85th annual Hungarian Day festival will be Aug. 12, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Youngstown Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave. The Hungarians band from the Akron area will perform, as will the Youngstown Hungarian dance group. Ethnic foods and pastries and refreshments will be available. Donations will be accepted at the gate.
