Mill Creek MetroParks Sand sculpture contest Winners

The MetroParks’ annual Sunfest on Sunday drew in dozens of people for the sand sculpture contest. Two winners were crowned in each of three categories.

Adult, 18 and older

First place: “Hot Summer” by Paisley Comeron, of Austintown.

Second place: “Volney’s Dream” by Linda Miller and the Wednesday Walkers, of Austintown.

Family, mix of ages

First place: “Making Time for Fun in the Sun” by Serena Kennedy and Zach Mellinger, of Austintown.

Second place: “Rocky Ridge” by Renay Choma, of Austintown.

Youth, under 18

First place: “Diesel the Dog” by Nick DeVengencie, of Warren.

Second place: “EFX Train” by Jason and Alex Hammer, of Youngstown.
