Cincy man charged in fatal crash after police chase

BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say they have arrested the driver of a rental truck that crashed into a minivan, killing two women in southwest Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a preliminary investigation of the Sunday night crash indicates the truck was chased earlier by Union Township police in Clermont County. The patrol says the truck ran a red light, crashing into the minivan on Ohio 32 in Union Township.

Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Anne Ralston says 78-year-old Corean Hutcherson and 75-year-old Betty Hines, both of Cincinnati, were killed.

Ralston says 33-year-old Ronald Godfrey of Cincinnati was arrested on two charges of involuntary manslaughter. His passenger, 41-year-old Jeffrey Moore of Owensville, was charged with receiving stolen property. Jail records do not list attorneys for them.

Police did not immediately return calls about the chase.
