Campbell City Council signed an agreement earlier in the month to lease 167 acres of land to Hill Corp., a Texas-based oil and gas company.

The city will receive between $830,000 and $850,000 as a bonus payment.

Opponents of hydraulic fracturing continue to speculate the board of Mill Creek MetroParks will lease park land to oil and gas exploration companies. The board to date has provided no indication it plans to do so. The speculation has been fueled by leasing that is ongoing on property near the park.
