Register this week for back-to-school backpack giveaway

Mahoning County residents with children entering kindergarten through eighth grade can visit the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., to pre-register for their back-to-school backpack giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Items required for the pre-registration include a current ID, proof of guardianship such as a birth certificate, and proof of residency such as a utility bill or lease. Distribution of the backpacks will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17.
