Parents: Donato and Mary Josephine Lellio.

Siblings: Andy and Donald Lellio, Lucy Donofrio, Ange Fuline and Rose Cavalier, all of Struthers. Dominic and Frank Lellio are both deceased.

Spouse: Benny Marapese Sr., died Dec. 24, 1991.

Married: Oct. 5, 1940, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Lowellville.

Children: Mickey (Sonny) Kotch, Donna (Vito) Carchedi, Benita (Don) Fisher, and Ben (Tammy) Marapese Jr., and John McCormick, son-in-law, all are of Struthers. Her daughter Mary Jane McCormick is deceased.

Grandchildren: Nine.

Great-grandchildren: 12.

BACKGROUND

Education: Graduated from Lowellville High School, 1940.

Employment: Retired from VFW Post 3538 after 26 years. During World War II ,she worked at Republic Steel Corp.

Church membership: Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas, Struthers.

Club memberships: Auxiliary Post 3538 for 63 years. St. Nicholas Altar and Rosary Society and Lowellville Senior Citizens.

Additional information: Continues to do volunteer work.

CELEBRATION

A 90th birthday celebration took place July 28 in her honor at Holy Rosary Educational Center in Lowellville. Surrounded by family and friends, Virginia enjoyed an evening of reminiscing. In keeping with her Italian heritage, the celebration included ethnic foods and music.
