Mahoning County residents with children entering kindergarten through eighth grade can visit the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., to pre-register for a back-to-school backpack giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Bring a current ID, proof of guardianship such as a birth certificate, and proof of residency such as a utility bill or lease. Distribution of the backpacks will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17.

Juggling workshop

Performer Jeff Raz will host a juggling workshop at OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, 11 W. Federal Street, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. A star of Cirque du Soleil, Raz is a graduate of Dell’Arte International, the founding director of The San Francisco Clown Conservatory and an actor who has toured internationally and on Broadway. Registration is required. The juggling workshop and performance is $2 for OH WOW! members and $10 for nonmembers, which includes general admission. Day camp for K-7

North Lima

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., is hosting its annual community day-camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 through 10.

McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane, is offering a three-day Outdoor Adventure Camp for children age 12 through 14 from Aug. 8 to 10. Campers will explore the learning center as well as natural parks in the area. Children will be invited to bike, hike and paddle canoes.
