Man, woman face assault charges

A Mahoning County grand jury handed up indictments against a 41-year-old Youngstown woman accused of trying to run over two officers and a 25-year-old woman with her car.

Charlotte Moreland, of Elbertus Avenue, is facing three counts of felonious assault and one count of vandalism after police say she purposely crashed her car Sunday on West Prince-ton Avenue into a vehicle owned by a 25-year-old woman, who was talking with two officers about a theft.

No one was injured, but Moreland did crash her car into a nearby cruiser, according to police reports.

The grand jury also handed up a superseding indictment in the case against four people accused of participating in ongoing gang activity on the city’s South Side.

O’Keefe Brown, 18, of Ravenwood Avenue; Frankie “Tank” Hudson Jr., 19, of Falls Avenue; Deon Sanders, 20, of Dennick Avenue; and Ruben Joel “Pilo” Sanchez Jr., 17, of Hilton Avenue are charged with multiple counts of robbery, aggravated robbery with firearm specifications, illegal possession of weapons and participating in a criminal gang, for a total of 16 counts each.

The grand jury also handed up indictments against these people this week:

Victor G. Green, 39, Glenmont Avenue, possession of drugs (two counts), possession of dangerous drugs.

Michael C. Mele, 25, Sixth Street, Campbell, theft.

Kenneth Daviduk, 18, First Street, burglary, receiving stolen property (two counts), possession criminal tools, burglary.

Jeffrey Walker, 27, Glenwood Avenue, burglary, receiving stolen property (two counts), possession of criminal tools, burglary.

Brendan Daviduk, 18, Fifth Street, Struthers, burglary, receiving stolen property (two counts), possession criminal tools, burglary.

Jamal McQueen, 18, Compton Lane, trafficking in cocaine.

Jason Ingram, 36, Charlotte, N.C., receiving stolen property.

Mario Townsend, Jr., 25, LaClede Avenue, illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of detention facility.

Siddiq Ibn Muhammad, 22, Truman Ave., possession of cocaine.

Isaac Green, Jr., 57, of Upland Avenue, possession of cocaine, having weapons while under disability, unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance.

Scott G. Primm, 31, Springfield Road, Springfield Township, forgery (26 counts), identity fraud.

Frank J. Hill, 42, Oak Street, assault, resisting arrest, aggravated menacing.

Anthony Thomas, 23, of Cherry Hill Avenue, having weapons while under disability.

Jon A. Watson, 21, Indian Run Drive, Canfield, importuning.

Geraldine Dorris, 33, Columbus, burglary.

Andre Leonard, 39, LaClede Avenue, aggravated burglary, attempted rape.

Joseph Battisti, 25, Parkway Street, Struthers, rape.

Michael McKenzie, 43, Metz Road, New Waterford, insurance fraud (two counts).
