St. Charles Church provided the setting for the May 26 wedding of Dr. Meredith Konya and Michael MacEwen, both of Canfield.

The Rev. Philip Rogers heard the exchange of vows during the 1:30 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Gary and Elaine Konya of Boardman and son of George and Mary Ann MacEwen of Holbrook, N.Y.

The newlyweds accepted congratulations during a reception at The Lake Club in Poland, then left on a honeymoon to Australia. They live in Canfield.

The bride wore a diamond white gown embellished with beading and crystals on the bodice and detailed with a drop-waist skirt of layers and tucks of silk, satin and organza.

Candice Konya, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor and designed the ice-blue dresses worn by attendants. Sara Shemonsky and Sharyn MacEwen, the groom’s sister, were bridesmaids. Flower girl was Julia Carreras, the niece of the groom.

George MacEwen Jr., the brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Shemonsky and Keith Weiss. Ushers were Kevin Moore, the bride’s brother-in-law, and Michael Scarola.

Mrs. MacEwen graduated from Youngstown State University and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine with a medical degree. She is a physician with All Points Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Poland.

Her husband graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a degree in business. He is a regional manager with Henry Schein.
