Families and friends gathered on a cool summer evening at Austintown Township Park for some good clean fun. Community members were all smiles as they listened to the music of the Blue Grass band, Border Ride July 10. The concert was one of several bands and musicians that perform each week throughout the summer.

Members of the Austintown Historical Society provided treats and beverages to patrons while they enjoyed the live music.

“We‘re here to represent the Historical Society and PR, but we’re also here to enjoy ourselves like everyone else. It’s a nice way for families to spend a summer evening and it’s free. People can take walks and listen to music,” said Austintown Historical Society member Carol Kuzma.

As tunes blared throughout the park, people played frisbee, walked their dogs and relaxed in the grass. The event was a particularly special evening for Debbie Horvatta and her family, who decided to eat their dinner at the park for the evening.

“We enjoy the music and we enjoy the summer parks. We like to come over and bring our granddaughter and bring a pizza,” said Horvatta.
