SCOPE class will cook with garden harvest

Champion SCOPE Senior Center, 4451 Mahoning Ave., in the Champion Plaza, is offering a free cooking and tasting demonstration at 11 a.m. Monday featuring the current harvest of vegetables.

Garvin McCorkle of the Ohio State Extension Family Nutrition Program will facilitate the class, which is free for anyone 55 and older.

There’s no need to sign up, but those who plan to attend the 10:30 a.m. breakfast before the class should call in advance to 330-847-8179. Cost of the breakfast is $5.
