A Mahoning County jury convicted a 36-year-old city man of four charges relating to a March fight with police officers.

The jury of five men and seven women spent about two hours deliberating in common pleas court before finding Shawn Green, who listed an address on East Florida Avenue, guilty of felonious assault, assault, cocaine possession and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

A pre-sentence investigation is under way. Judge James C. Evans has set a sentencing date of 1:30 p.m. Sept. 12.

Green faces a maximum of 11 years in prison for felonious assault, 18 months for assault, one year for cocaine possession and 180 days and up to a $1,000 fine for resisting arrest.

Police were called to O’Malley’s Bar on South Avenue for a fight about 8 p.m. March 15. When police arrived, officer Bridget Quinn approached Green, who punched her in the face, causing her head to hit a wall, according to reports.

Police said Green then began fighting officer Patrick Mulligan, stopping only when Quinn used a stun gun on Green and other officers responded to the scene.

Green reportedly had an extremely high blood-alcohol level and drugs in his system at the time of fight, according to Vindicator files.

Green was found to have drugs on him when he was arrested, and he and both officers were taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said.

The incident was the second time in two years that Quinn was assaulted and landed in the hospital. In March 2011, she was assaulted while breaking up a fight between a group of women on the South Side.
