Nonprofit group offers disaster response class

GIRARD

To help prepare and serve the community in the event of a disaster, HandsOn Volunteer Network will offer training for a Continuity of Operations Plan beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 at the Girard MultiGenerational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave.

A Continuity of Operations Plan allows nonprofit agencies to prepare and resume service after an emergency or natural disaster.

Following the training, participants can attend the Volunteer Reception Center training. The training will detail the process of how volunteers can respond and be deployed to areas during a disaster and emergencies.

Class size is limited. Visit HOVN.org or call 330-782-5877 to register.
