W.Pa. firefighters pull 3-year-old from flames

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Firefighters have rescued a 3-year-old girl from a fire at a Pittsburgh apartment building.

Authorities say the unnamed girl was trapped in the apartment after the three-alarm fire broke out at about 3 a.m. this morning.

Deputy Chief Michael Mullen says the girl wasn’t breathing after firefighters broke down a door and pulled her to safety, but medics revived her. She was taken to an area hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Authorities say the blaze may have begun in a kitchen, but the cause is still under investigation.
