Mahoning County chiropractor arraigned on various charges

YOUNGSTOWN — A chiropractor with an office in Boardman has pleaded innocent to theft, insurance fraud and tampering with records and been released on his own recognizance.

Dr. David P. Esarco, 52, who resides on Shady Glen Trail in Poland, entered his plea at his arraignment today before Magistrate Timothy G. Welsh of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

The county grand jury indictment, issued July 12, alleges Dr. Esarco stole somewhere between $5,000 and $100,000 from six insurance companies between July 2004 and May 2011.

Ohio State Chiropractic Board records show that Dr. Esarco was first licensed as a chiropractic physician in February 1987, has an active professional license expiring March 31, 2014, and has not been disciplined by that board.

Rebecca Doherty, chief of the criminal division of the county prosecutor’s office, and Dr. Esarco’s lawyer, Robert Shaker, declined to comment on the case after court.
