Hubbard

A motorist lost control of a vehicle, going into a ditch and hitting a gas line on Chestnut-Ridge Road in the township causing the evacuation of nine houses.

The driver lost control about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near Collar-Price Road and broke the line after hitting it, police said.

The evacuation lasted about 90 minutes with gas returned to eight of the houses during that time, police said. The remaining house will get its gas back today, police said.

There were no injuries. Police hadn’t charged the motorist as of late Sunday.
