2 Helen Freed stores to close

A business that has been a landmark in downtown Sharon for years has announced plans to shutter two of its four locations.

The company has placed the following announcement on its website:

“After five generations in business, Helen Freed’s Bridal and Helen Freed’s Boutique will soon be closing their doors.”

The bridal store is at 64 W. State St., and the boutique is on the next block at 160 W. State St.

The website does not refer to the future of the outlet store at 169 E. State St. or the company’s first franchise in Geneva.

Attempts to contact someone at the store to comment were unsuccessful.
