Re-enactment of Civil War returns

The 7th bi-annual Civil War re-enactment at Argus Park, on Shields Road in Canfield Township, will be Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $6 (free for children 10 and under).

Classic car show and free movie

POLAND

Yellow Creek Theatre will have an antique car show this evening before a free outdoor screening of the film “The Love Bug.” Classic car owners are invited to bring their cars beginning at 6 p.m. The Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club and Yellow Creek Theatre are joining to help pay the substantial medical bills of 4-year-old Mario Novello by selling hot dogs and having a raffle at the car show. The event will be adjacent to Poland Library on U.S. Route 224. The film will begin at dusk.

Dance winner

BOARDMAN

Caty Moran, a 2009 Boardman High School alumna, won the adult division of the national Showstoppers Dance Competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C., July 2. Moran, of Boardman, competes and teaches at Sandy Bee Dance and Gymnastics. She also is part of the Youngstown State University dance ensemble team and majorette adviser for Brookfield High School.

Glass Harp shows

Glass Harp, the Youngs-town rock band that received national acclaim in the ’70s, will play Aug. 31 at the Rex Theatre in Pittsburgh, and Sept. 1 at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, Garrettsville, Ohio, with Sultans of Bing, Color Wheel, Jones for Revival and Yosemight.
