Jamestown Jammers pitcher Matt Milroy couldn’t stop Mahoning Valley’s offense on Thursday night.

The rain could.

Evan Frazar hit a grand slam in the top of the third inning and the Scrappers took a 6-3 lead before play was suspended after three innings in a New York-Penn League game at Russell Diethrick Park.

The game will resume today at 5, with the second game beginning 30 minutes after the end of the opener.

The Scrappers scored a run in the top of the first when Frazar coaxed a bases-loaded walk to plate Joseph Wendle.

The Jammers then scored a run in the bottom of the first and two more in the second before Mahoning Valley added five in the third. Tyler Naquin led off with a single, Wendle doubled, Richard Stock was hit by a pitch and Frazar homered to left. Erik Gonzalez then singled and moved to third on two straight wild pitches. He scored on a groundout.
