Canfield swimmers dominate in win over Logan

The Canfield Swim Club put together a strong performance, placing in most events en route to a 364-51 victory over Logan on July 11 at Canfield.

The team’s best event was the free relay, where it took first place in all age groups for both boys and girls. Santino Marucci (9-10 boys) domintated his events by earning four victories. He won the medley relay, freestyle, butterfly and free relays.

There were nine triple first-place winners for Canfield. Luke Dietz (8 and under boys) claimed the freestyle, butterfly, and free relay races. Elle Dawson (9-10 girls) placed in the freestyle, 50 backstroke, and free relay races. Jillian Baker (11-12 girls) won the freestyle, butterfly, and free relay races. Cullen Brady (11-12 boys) claimed the medley, freestyle, and breaststroke events.

Alec Gaetano (13-14 boys) placed in the freestyle, butterfly, and free relay races. Sydney Stewart (13-14 boys) won the 50 backstroke, butterfly, and free relay events. Sarah Heaven (15-18 girls) also finished first in the 50 backstroke, butterfly, and free relay races. Finally, Connor Brady (15-18 boys) won the freestyle, breaststroke, and free relay events while Daniel Bogen (also 15-18 boys) claimed the 50 backstroke, butterfly, and free relay races.

There were also 13 double winners. Madison Murphy (8 and under girls) won the 50 backstroke and free relay events while Madison Klugart (also 8 and under girls) took the butterfly and free relay races. Marissa Landers (9-10 girls) won the butterfly and free relay races. Joe Klepec (9-10 boys) took first in the 50 backstroke and free relay. Gina Landers (11-12 girls) claimed the 50 backstroke and free relay events.

Jonathon Gant (11-12 boys) finished first in the 50 backstroke and free relay, while Luke Pallante, in the same age group, took first in the medley and butterfly events. Jack Pallante (13-14 boys) won the breaststroke and free relay, while Jared Rothbauer, in the same age group, won the medley and 50 backstroke.

Mara Kohut (13-14 girls) claimed the freestyle and free relay races. Olivia Williamson (15-18 girls) won the medley and free relay, while Mallory Allen, also 15-18 girls, won the freestyle and free relay raves and Briana O’Malley (same age group) took first in the breaststroke and free relay events.
