Symposium to promote The Balanced Woman

Healthy Woman, a Trumbull Memorial Hospital Resource, and Someplace Safe, a women’s shelter, will host The Balanced Woman, a midsummer symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28 at Kent State University Trumbull Campus, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.

The purpose of the event is to help women be wise, be healthy, be stress free and be safe.

The schedule follows:

• 8:30 a.m.: Registration.

• 9 a.m.: Dr. Jennifer Lloyd, “Put Your Best Face Forward.”

• 10 a.m.: Dr. Tara Shipman, “Things That Fall.”

• 11 a.m.: Dr. Salvatore Caronite, “Keeping the Oranges in the Air.”

• 2 p.m.: Dr. Mary Wilson,”Debunking the Myths about Crime and Women.”

• 3 p.m.: Lana Kontos, “Nutrition + Lifestyle = Wellness & Balance.”

Yoga will be from noon to 1 and 4 to 5 p.m., lunch is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m., and vendors will be available from noon to 5 p.m. They will include arts and crafts, nutrition and services to help balance your life.

Other features include massage and meditation.

The registration fee is $25, which includes continental breakfast, boxed lunch and a snack.
