MCDONALD schools Board accepts donation of new scoreboard for field

McDONALD
McDonald Board of Education has accepted the donation of a new scoreboard for the football field from Steel & Alloy Utility Products Inc. of McDonald.
The new scoreboard will replace the existing 30- to 40-year-old one, which has grown unreliable with age.
Also included will be a new, metal structure to hold the scoreboard, also donated by Steel and Alloy.
In others business at Wednesday night’s meeting, the board accepted a donation of $5,000 from Timothy Cherotti, an alumnus, to be used toward the football program.
The board also approved participating in the Sheakley’s Group Rating Program of Cincinnati in 2013 with a projected discount of $5,407. The annual cost will be $459.
A contract with Cintas of North Jackson for floor mats and mops was renewed for July 1 to June 30, 2013, at an estimated cost of $2,450 to $2,500.
Prices were dropped by the company for the contract renewal for an expected savings of $60 to $100 a year, district Treasurer Bill Johnson said.
The cost last year was $2,600.
The board also approved Josh Krumpak as special-education supervisor under a supplemental contract for $4,000, plus an additional 15 work days for the 2012-13 school year.
