The city school board approved an initial step to place a renewal levy on the November ballot. The four-year measure, if approved, would continue to generate about $5.2 million annually. Some details:

The owner of a $50,000 home would continue to pay $159.25 annually, including the homestead exemption and 2.5 percent rollback.

The owner of a $100,000 home would continue to pay $318.50 annually, including the homestead exemption and 2.5 percent rollback.
