Home sales rise in Mahoning and Trumbull counties

The sale of homes have risen steeply in Mahoning and Trumbull counties for the month of June compared to the previous year.

Sales increased by 66 for the month in Mahoning County. There were a total of 205 homes sold, according to figures from the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors. The median price of homes has also increased from $63,500 in June 2011 to $87,500 this year.

There were 146 homes that closed in June 2012 in Trumbull County, while only 65 were sold in June 2011. The price of homes has also increased going from $63,000 in June 2011 to $76,500 this year in Trumbull County.

In stark contrast were the sales figures for Columbiana County where 167 homes had closed in June 2011, but that figured decreased to 65 this year. The median price for the county was similar, dropping $1,000 to $74,000.
