Vets group founder will speak to seniors

Life Long Learning Institute at Park Vista will start its summer session with Irwin Stovroff, founder and president of Vets Helping Heroes.

Stovroff will speak at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Park Vista Gathering Room, 1216 Fifth Ave., explaining how he founded the nonprofit organization, which aids disabled veterans of post-Sept. 11 conflicts by buying trained service dogs.

The cost for the event is $5, and all proceeds go to Vets Helping Heroes.
