Pa. police continue search for man, 80

MERCER, PA.

Donald Lee Mariacher, 80, of 790 Perry Highway, East Lackawannock Township, has been missing since about 11 a.m. Friday when he was seen by a neighbor walking along state Route 19 (Perry Highway) toward Interstate 80 near a wooded area.

A search for Mariacher, known to suffer from high blood pressure, was initiated by the Pennsylvania State Police with help of personnel from numerous volunteer fire departments, local police-dog units and the Northwest Pennsylvania Search and Rescue dog team.

Mariacher’s name was placed into the National Crime Information Center’s data bank as missing person/endangered.

The search was halted at 2 a.m. Saturday and resumed at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with a coordinated air and ground search. The search resumed Monday, but as of Tuesday night, Mariacher had not been found, state police said.
